Where to Find Mom Friends in Westchester
Becoming a new mom is an incredible journey—but let’s be real, it can also feel a little isolating. Between diaper changes, feedings, and sleepless nights, it’s easy to feel like you're doing it all alone. That’s why finding mom friends who get it is so important. In this post, I’m sharing some of the best places (both online and IRL) in Westchester County to meet other moms, build your village, and feel more supported in this wild season of life.
Cost-free ways to meet other moms
Library events: libraries often host baby and toddler story times and activities
Playgrounds: sometimes, just a simple “hello” can start a new friendship!
Community centers: many community centers offer a variety of classes and programs for parents and children
Facebook groups: search for local mom groups or interest-based groups on Facebook to connect with other moms in your area or who share your interests. Peanut Moms of Westchester is a page that organizes play dates and mom night outs for moms of young children.
Support group: Andrea Glover, LCSW, PMHC, hosts a free weekly Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Group at Scarsdale Library.
Peanut app: Peanut is a free app that connects moms, allowing you to swipe on potential friends and start conversations.
Other Ways
Play group hosted by a physical therapist: I highly recommend the Motor Milestones group at Play & Grow Physical Therapy.
Baby & Me workout and new parent support group: I recommend the 8-week Postpartum Power workshop at Pilates Loft in Briarcliff. Each week includes 45 minutes of postpartum pilates class and 60 minutes of support group with a therapist/parent coach.
FIT4MOM: they offer prenatal and postnatal programs in many areas of the US, and they have a location in Yorktown. First class is free!
Mommy & Me classes: participating in classes like yoga, music, swimming, or other activities can be a fun way to connect with other moms and bond over shared experiences.
Birth/newborn prep classes: whether it’s an infant CPR class, a birthing class, or a newborn care class, there are many ways to meet other expecting parents.
